2021 CMA Golf Tournament: A Great Day to Renew Friendships and Chase a Little White Ball

Fortunately, you can’t play golf with your friends on Zoom. Sure, you can play golf on an Xbox, but it doesn’t come close to starting the day with a pre-golf bloody and hitting that needed “breakfast ball.”

It’s with that backdrop we want to thank CMA members and guests for joining us on Friday, July 30 for an incredible day of golf and merriment. As we planned the event, we sensed our member’s enthusiasm to play and spend time après-golf with friends and colleagues.

Thanks goes out to CMA Board members Jill Nelson (Brooks & Nelson) and Kelly Ward (Marsh) for their help in selling out this year’s tournament! It’s an impressive feat to fill the Legacy Ridge Golf Course with mining professionals hailing from Colorado and around the world. This year, we were particularly thrilled that many Colorado mining operators sent multiple foursomes to play, thus creating a great atmosphere for CMA members to renew acquaintances.

We’re grateful for all the CMA members who sponsored the tournament, including the fabulous barbecue lunch and the morning breakfast burritos and Bloody Mary bar. Thanks to individual players who joined us as well. It’s our goal as a staff to provide our members with events and opportunities to interact which, after the last year and a half, are more special than ever.

I want to thank our friends at Legacy Ridge Golf Course, a City of Westminster course, for providing a fabulous venue and working with CMA through all the details of hosting a sold-out event. If you have a chance to play a round on your own at Legacy Ridge, please be sure to take a minute to thank Head Golf Professional, Joe Carlton.

Finally, I want to thank Stephanie Shark for her outstanding efforts pulling the event together. It’s always nice to hear members interested in participating in the golf tournament say “I know Stephanie” when they have questions or want to join the golf planning committee.
