All About Mining: 21st century mining for K-12 educators

Starting a New Decade
Summer Course Dates: June 18-26, 2020

It’s that time again! The summer course will be here before we know it and it is time to get our class arranged.

If you know any teachers, please tell them to check out our popular annual summer course (details on our website, allaboutmining.org). This year’s course will begin on Thursday, June 18 and will conclude on Friday, June 26. All course graduates will earn six hours of Continuing Education Credits and will complete the program with incredible lesson plans, experiences and educational materials they can take directly back to their classrooms.

If you have never visited our website, allaboutmining.org, I encourage you to do so, not to take all of the lectures, but to get a flavor of what the teachers are taught before we take them out into the “real” world. One video in particular would be a good one to watch—“Copper Smelting and Refining.” This was done for us by Freeport-McMoRan and is very informative. It is the third lecture under the Processing and use of Minerals and Metals section. It is easy to view any of our lectures—just enroll as a visitor and watch as many of them as you like.

Remember, you can support us so easily by using Amazon.smile.com and choose Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation as your charity. Amazon donates a small portion of your purchases directly to CMAEF, which we use to bring All About Mining to K-12 educators.

If you would like to know more about us, or get involved in our exciting educational mission, please contact me by email.
