All About Mining: 21st century mining for K-12 educators

It was a lonely month of June, as I really missed being with our teachers for our annual summer course. All About Mining always delivers such an incredible week of learning, discovery, and memorable experiences for all involved. That doesn’t mean we haven’t been very busy here in the background at CMAEF, though. We now have an updated, multi-viewable website and are working on some other new projects for the near future. If you haven’t looked recently, please visit us at:

I need to give a shout-out this month to Mr. Ryan Miles, CMAEF Board Member, graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, financial analyst at the Electrum Group, and father of five. As chair of our Board’s Curriculum Committee, Ryan has been instrumental in generating new educational ideas that will help us update our content and bring our programming online to more teachers. His bold vision is keeping us busy and the entire committee is excited to be a part of what we are putting together. We all look forward to the new opportunities that are emerging, and you—our loyal friends and supporters—should definitely watch this space to learn more, in the near future, about what we are up to at “All About Mining.”

There are several ways you can support our education efforts. There is the traditional donation via check or electronic transfer, as well as the option to support us when shopping online at Amazon. All you have to do is choose Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation as your charity when you log onto and shop as you would normally; Amazon will contribute to us a small percentage of your purchase with no extra charge to you. If you would like to know more about us, or get involved in our exciting educational mission, please contact me by email.

Stay safe everyone!
