It is already October and the holidays are in the air. We at CMAEF continue to work on new K-12 teacher learning experiences. We’ll be doing a presentation in early March at the CMA-SME joint virtual conference about our new online program for K-12 educators, “Mining for a STEAM Education.” The curriculum is currently being developed, and we plan to launch this program later in 2021. I will keep you posted as to our progress.
All About Mining will have its first virtual booth this November at the Colorado Science Teachers Conference. Through our efforts in building new learning platforms, we have come across some very interesting materials that explain mining in short videos. These will aid us in getting teachers to “stop” by our booth and visit us. If all goes well this winter regarding COVID, we will offer the live All About Mining course in June 2021 and I sure would like these science teachers to know about our opportunity. Please pass the word to any teacher you may know that we have a great learning experience.
And as always, there are many ways you can support our education efforts. There is the traditional way of sending a check or making a wire transfer and there is the simple use of choosing us as your charitable foundation when purchasing from Amazon. All you have to do is choose Colorado Mining Association Education Foundation as your charity when you log onto smile.amazon.com and shop as you would normally; Amazon will award us a small percentage of your purchase with no extra charge to you. We are also participants in “Colorado Gives Day,” due to happen on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Check out our profile at coloradogives.org.
Hope you are well and staying safe, everyone!
