DRMS Update
Ginny Brannon stated Governor Polis will announce two new appointments to the Mined Land Reclamation Board shortly, but not in time for a controversial upcoming permit application hearing this month.
Jim Stark reported the re-opening of the New Elk mine near Trinidad may occur sooner than anticipated. The mine proposes to produce 70,000 tons a year.
Jim also mentioned the Division was hoping to finalize revisions to the MOU it maintains with the Water Quality Control Division.

Discussion of Air Quality Control Division Modeling Whistleblower Claims
Howard Gebhart provided a summary of the whistleblower complaints filed with the EPA concerning permits issued including modeling determinations Division staffers disagreed with.
