Education Foundation Update: February 2023

The Colorado Mining Association Education foundation is pleased to announce that in 2023, we will offer two 2-day workshops and one longer 4-day field trip. This coursework provides teachers with tools and experiences to explore mining-related curricula in earth sciences, math, technology, and engineering.

The first workshop will run Monday–Tuesday, June 5–6, 2023, at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO.

The second workshop will run Thursday–Friday, June 8–9, 2023, at the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum in Leadville, CO.

The 4-day field trip embarks from Monday–Thursday, June 19–22, touring many active mining operations in northwestern Colorado.

“Mining for a STEAM Education” is an online course offered through AllAboutMining.org and in partnership with the Nevada Mining Association and the Colorado School of Mines Teacher Enhancement program. The course is offered completely online and to be done at your own pace through a combination of instructional videos, activities, and assessments.

The Education Foundation will launch a fundraising campaign soon. Please consider supporting the new workshops and tours that we are working on for this summer. Importantly, please share the information about these workshops with teachers who might benefit from this educational opportunity to carry information into their classrooms about the true benefits of mining.

Please contact us for more information about this worthy program and look for more details in the coming months!
