Your membership allows CMA to continue to advocate for Colorado’s mining industry, but also promotes opportunities for your company and your employees. We’re pleased this year to have been able to return to some sense of normalcy in terms of hosting our annual events. These opportunities to get together are critical to the success of CMA.
Your membership also supports CMA’s active government affairs advocacy efforts. No doubt you are aware that Colorado is a challenging state in which to do business. CMA strives to keep Colorado as a state that is open for business. In fact, we have witnessed this year the re-opening of two Colorado mines, the New Elk mine near Trinidad, and the Virginius-Revenue mine in Ouray. Congratulations to both mines! We’re also excited to have the news media contact us to ask if Colorado will see new mining activity due to higher commodity prices and the need for critical minerals.
CMA’s committees are extremely active and the best possible means to actively participate in the work of the Association. We regularly host visitors from state and federal government, as well as experts covering federal issues, such as the National Mining Association. If you are interested in participating on a committee, please contact us.
Whether your company is an active Colorado mine operator or a vendor/supplier, your support is critical. Membership referrals are especially welcome as we believe there is a home for everyone involved in mining in Colorado.
Finally, we’re looking forward to presenting the 124th National Western Mining Conference & Exhibition in Grand Junction next June. Despite having to wait two years to present the conference in Grand Junction, we believe this is the right venue for our conference and hope you make plans to attend.
