The CMA Water Quality Committee is aligning its meetings with the Water Quality Forum’s Permit Issues Workgroup. The committee encourages interested members to participate in the Permit Issues Workgroup meetings as this is the forum where the Water Quality Control Division encourages the regulated community to raise issues of concern. CMA is considering joining with other industry participants to increase alignment among permittees.
Committee Chair, Jimmy Boswell, agreed to update the CMA white paper addressing the application of Downstream Standards. Members can access this recently revised document, as well as the Flow Limitations White Paper, in the Water Quality Committee’s document library (requires member login).
CMA continues to engage in positive conversations with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety regarding the manner the Division and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Water Quality Control Division regulate the mining industry, and look forward to continued positive discussions.
